Family clean fun social get-together

Here is latest report from Mr. Anand on Wednesday's exciting evening of poetry.

I think this has got to be a record for me: I sat in the hall on Wednesday night with my mouth hung open in astonishment for more than an hour. After every poem I thought to myself, 'nothing can top that,' but, lo and behold, another puerile poem!

Here are a selection of the night's fare. First up is Mrs Kumar's offering:
I feel like a flower
with a lover
who loves me?
the Lord is my bee

This was the first poem and already my stomach was shifting in ominous ways.

Here was Mrs Kurian's:
Roses are red
Violets are blue
God loves me
and he loves you too!

The flower power was getting too much for me, but fortunately the next poem mentioned neither. It was by 'enthu cutlet' Mathew Mathai. It's about... well, I wonder if you can guess:
Freedom is what I need
Freedom is what I want
Freedom is what I desire

Freedom is what I ask for
Freedom is what I request
Freedom is what I supplicate

Freedom is simply amazing
Freedom is most riveting
Freedom is super like superman

Oh (3 times)

Oh (3times again)

What freedom!

I don't think we can accuse the author of obscurity there.

Next was a Gospel inspired poem. I liked this one. The poet is my friend, Philip:
Mary had a little Jesus
and his cloths were white as snow
and every where Mary went
little Jesus didn’t go.
How clever Jesus was!

Can you guess the story behind this one? A prize if you can! A good time to present my own feeble bleating:
last week was dancing
this week poetry
is there simply no end
to this mockery
of sanity?

Next, a more serious turn in the poesy from Ms. Sneha (sigh...):
Here I am writing crap
with silly people, silly poems and silly pulpits
but is there some reason
why I’m still here
deeper than all I see?

I think we all ask that sometimes. Well, I do.

Things became a little more confessional after that. Here is Youth member Nathaniel:
Freddy is a naughty Christian
So is teenage Tommy
They go to pub and spend million
and go home to mommy.

They dance in the disco
and sleep only at twelve,
they are fully loco
what all they try into delve!

(names changed to avoid violence from anup and ramesh)

Lets hope Anup and Ramesh's parents don't read this blog eh?

Lastly a piece that makes me feel a bit deja vu! (Ooops! Can Christians believe in that?) It's by Mr Gnanakan, one half of the choir:
Amazing chase
how sweet the sound
that chases a wretch like me
I once was lost
but now I’m chased
Was blind
but now I’m caught

Well, I'm sure, like me, you've had enough poetry for a millennia or two now. Thank goodness we won't have to do this again any time soon.

- Anand.

A testimony

Praise the Lord! We are most passionately glad this passion week to receive a testimony from one of our dear members, a fellow worker and brother in the Lord struggling in deepest darkest Darkanahallisandra. Be encouraged brothers (and sisters)!

Dear Pastor

We are delighted to give you testimony of ministry. Many signs and wonders have occured in the last week of test and trial. I was waiting for bus (my scooter was towed away) and I waited and I waited. I remembered the oh so gracious verse from the scriptures that those that wait on the Lord, will soar like the eagles and run and not be weary. And a miracle happened! A old green bus came and I ran to it. I got on and you will never ever believe the amazingness thing. I wasn't weary. Praise the Lord brother I wasn't weary! I promise! Now you will be wondering what about the eagle. Brother! The bus I was travelling on! It was EAGLE TRAVELS! So there I was soaring at 15 kilometres every hour through Bangalore traffic.

Bangalore traffic is bad. My scooter is faithfully waiting in police station. But the Lord has promised me a car. A small maruti 800. Second hand will be fine.

What a testimony! The Lord has promised me a ticket to the Yoo Es. But miserly people have temporarily slowled the Lord's magnificent will. May more testimonies flow!

Pastor (call me smiley)

PS only if you're above 40 and if you are a man

PSS but generally call me pastor because other pastors will feel lack of security

watching our tongue (or our words)

The tongue is a source of much evil. My favourite apostle James who divinely inspired he was when he wrote those wise words of wisdom has written this wonderful and amazing truth. Let it be a gentle warning to young irresponsible people who write reports casting long shadows upon the activities our fellowship. Administrators need to exercise wisdom and caution in the blog especially ensuring that the poaster should read the testimony. Everything to the glory of God and to be edifying. For those brothers (and sisters) who haven't forgiven our young brother the testimony shall disappear after a few more testimonies as we are unable to delete anything.

Yours glorifyingly in the matchless and fearless name of our Lord!

Family Clean Fun Social Get-Together Report

Here is a report from Mr. Anand on Family Clean Fun Social Get-Together on last Wednesday evening.

I arrived late because Wednesday isn't a good day for me and I had to finish a project at work. Anyway, when I got to Spirit Filled True To The Word Fellowship Church everyone was already up and doing Line dancing (cowboy type dancing from USA) led by the very able Ms. Sneha. She's a very attractive woman, especially with pointy boots and a stetson. I thought I would sit and watch from the back, which, it turned out, was a very good place to be, as you'll see.

So, Ms. Sneha (very nice looking lady) was encouraging the few people still sitting around to join the fun. I declined but she managed to get Mr and Mrs Kumar to get in line. Mrs Kumar has a surprising amount of energy for an old aunty, I must say. And she certainly got very excited, pointing her feet this way and that and twirling round. Everyone was being very encouraging and calling out to her and she seemed to me to be on the verge of hysteria when someone shouted, "Shake a leg Mrs Kumar!"

Which she did. Unfortunately her prosthesis is a bad fit so the leg shook itself off and went flying across the room. I hear Biji's concussion is not too bad but she trembles whenever anyone mentions dancing.

Anyway, seeing as it all became havoc after that, I left and went to Imperial for some rolls and went home.

Thanking you Mr Anand.

Join next Family Clean Fun Social Get-Together on Wednesday. Activity not yet decided. Suggestions velcome.

blog and all

praise the lord brother!!!

we have a wonderful new page in the Lord!!!

a page which shall extol and edify in the matchless name of our Lord!!!

it is a page that exists in the great cyberspace!

Which like the spiritual realm does not exist in the physical reality!!

To be in the cyberspace therefore means to be more spiritual!!

Praise the Lord brother!

you too sisters but quietly. you know you are not to speak too much in church. but God loves you even though you are a woman!!

Please not to mistake cyber with Sai Baba.

but that is not the topic. today i gave a wonderful sermon on Jesus health! How he ate lots of olives and fish and remained healthy all his life. The bible does not say even once when Jesus had even a small cold. Not even a sneeze. Praise the Lord! To eat olives and fish my brethren. Is to be Olivy. sorry holy.

and so brothers (and sisters, I am becoming life feminist no?) so starts this first hearing from the word on this Palm sunday.

Remember to keep eating olives.

Those who wish for praying and ministry and laying of cyber hands on their shoulders may touch the screen.

Praise the Lord!
